I spent a day and a night waiting outside the emergency room, only to receive news of my mother's death. I dialed my husband Adam's number, but a woman's moaning came through the phone. He must be lost in some woman's embrace right now. Tears slid down my cheeks as I tried to keep my voice from trembling. "One hundred million." His angry voice came through the phone. "Elizabeth, have I been too generous to you these past three years? Making you think you have the right to blackmail me like some kind of robber?" "Don't tell me your mother just got a little shock.
